My approach to counseling
My approach focuses on the experience of emotion. I attend to how emotions come up in unhelpful ways and work with you to facilitate change and growth through emotional exploration and experiencing. I seek to create a safe space in which you can feel comfortable exploring emotions and different parts of yourself in a new way.
I have experience in working with
Perinatal/Postpartum depression and anxiety
Pregnancy/Infant loss (miscarriage, stillbirth)
Birth trauma
Infertility
Adjustment to parenthood
NICU and special needs parenting
Foster and adoptive parenting
I am currently accepting new couples. I recognize that the path toward parenthood often runs counter to expectations in difficult and painful ways. I specialize in concerns related to perinatal depression & anxiety, pregnancy & infant loss, birth trauma, infertility, NICU stays & special needs parenting, and adjusting to parenthood, including foster and adoptive parents. I have experience walking alongside clients as they face some of the biggest challenges of their lives and helping them find their way.
