Works with Individuals and Teletherapy

My approach to counseling

I use evidence-based interventions which address the holistic needs of an individual and draw out his or her motivations and skills for change; specific therapeutic interventions reflect the tenets of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and attachment theory. Together, these theories not only promote insight but also provide practical ways to change thought patterns, behaviors, and ways of relating to others. My choice of approach varies depending on the presenting problems and goals of the client, their personality and intellectual style, and the amount of time they are able to devote to therapeutic work.

I have experience in working with

Addiction
Relapse prevention
Anxiety disorders
Mood disorders (major depressive disorder, bipolar disorders, etc.)
Boundaries
Interpersonal relational patterns
Identity development
Grief and loss
Shame
Military lifestyle and trauma

Education

MA in Clinical Mental Health, Denver Seminary, Denver CO

Professional Experience

I have over ten years of experience providing individual and group counseling for men and women struggling with mental health, substance use, and trauma-related concerns in community mental health, residential, outpatient, and criminal justice settings. In addition, I have previously provided supervision for clinicians seeking licensure in Colorado and currently serve as the Director of Administrative Services for Samaritan Center of Puget Sound.

Make an Appointment

Samaritan Center uses an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system developed by Valant for client intake and subsequent health records management. To set up your account and schedule your appointment, follow these steps, as directed by your therapist and prompted by Valant:
  1. To begin the process, first contact the therapist by email or phone (listed on this page above) to schedule an initial conversation about fit.
  2. When prompted by an email from Valant, set up your patient portal account using a validation code provided by your therapist.
  3. Fill out your demographic/insurance information in Valant. Let your therapist know when this is complete.
  4. When prompted by an email from Valant, complete our eSignature intake packet.

NOTE: All the above steps must be completed before your first session with your therapist.
