My approach to counseling

I do therapy in both English and Spanish. I am interested in the integration of the psychological, biological, social and spiritual influences on our well-being. From a systems perspective, I focus on the patterns of relationships of individuals and couples. While I primarily use experiential approaches in therapy, I am especially sensitive to accommodating my clients’ needs and goals. I have found that Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is especially effective in my work with individuals and in couple therapy.

I have experience in working with

Helping couples and individuals improve their communication and develop their potential so as to grow as persons and in relationships.
Working with individuals and couples who are dealing with a medical condition to decrease the negative impact that it has in their lives.
Relational/marital/family challenges: therapy that supports those who are adjusting to major life changes and challenges, increasing their ability to cope with adversity as well as to better function at work and school. Helping individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, loss and trauma.
Acculturation issues: therapy that supports those who are adjusting to a different culture, strengthening their natural skills and resources.

Make an Appointment

Samaritan Center uses an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system developed by Valant for client intake and subsequent health records management. To set up your account and schedule your appointment, follow these steps, as directed by your therapist and prompted by Valant:
  1. To begin the process, first contact the therapist by email or phone (listed on this page above) to schedule an initial conversation about fit.
  2. When prompted by an email from Valant, set up your patient portal account using a validation code provided by your therapist.
  3. Fill out your demographic/insurance information in Valant. Let your therapist know when this is complete.
  4. When prompted by an email from Valant, complete our eSignature intake packet.

NOTE: All the above steps must be completed before your first session with your therapist.
