About StillWaters Therapists
StillWaters Counseling and Consultation is a distinct part of Samaritan Center, created to serve clients who cannot or prefer not to access insurance as a payment option. Such clients might lack insurance coverage or seek a type of therapy that insurance providers do not cover. Learn more...My approach to counseling
I am committed to an integrated approach to therapy, influenced primarily by techniques drawn from attachment theory and mindfulness. I try to adapt my approach to the relational needs of my clients, observing that growth occurs through a combination of insight and experience. A practitioner of yoga for many years, I believe that clients respond to a range of interventions: psychological, physical and spiritual.
I have experience in working with
Individuals: identity and family of origin issues; exploring meaning and vocation;
adapting to divorce; issues of mid-life, aging, and life transitions
Coping with high-stress, high-tech work environments
Couples: communication and conflict resolution, marriage preparation and
enrichment, parenting challenges
Prepare/Enrich facilitator (relationship assessment and counseling)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples
Spiritual/holistic growth, mindfulness, longstanding yoga practice
