Divorce Lifeline Group Counseling

Instructors Rob Erickson

Anyone going through divorce, separation or the ending of a significant relationship knows that it’s a time when people need understanding, support and a way to develop coping skills that will make everyday life more manageable and the future more hopeful. Research tells us that group therapy is an effective and affordable resource for those in the midst of stressful life situations. A small group provides a safe place where both adults and kids can work through their feelings of loss, anger and grief and – at the same time – develop skills that will help them move through painful transitions.

Divorce Lifeline Group Therapy begins with a call to Samaritan’s Divorce Lifeline Coordinator, Rob Erickson. Rob can be reached at (206) 527-2266 x370. Groups are formed as we receive calls; 4-7 members are needed for a group. Rob will arrange a 50-minute intake interview at a cost of $60. If group therapy is an appropriate option for you, you’ll join a small group of up to 7 people. Participants must attend 10 consecutive sessions. This year the group will not be a closed group (as space opens up, new people will be added) and the group will meet through the entire year, rather than just 10 weeks.

The Adult Group meets for on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in Seattle at our Main Office near Green Lake, led by Rob Erickson, a licensed marriage and family therapist on the Samaritan staff. Fees for therapy are based on the participants’ income and range from $25 to $60 for each group therapy session. Fee assistance for those with very limited incomes may be available.

Like all Samaritan programs, Divorce Lifeline groups welcome people of all lifestyles, faiths and backgrounds.
