My approach to counseling

In my work with individuals and couples, I focus on the experience of emotion. I attend to how emotions come up in unhelpful ways and work with you (and your partner) to facilitate change and growth through emotional exploration and experiencing. I provide support and guidance for you to feel comfortable exploring emotions and different parts of yourself in a new way to help you shift how you respond and better meet your needs.

I have experience working with

  • Perinatal/Postpartum depression and anxiety
  • Pregnancy/Infant loss (miscarriage, stillbirth)
  • Infertility
  • Birth trauma
  • NICU stays
  • Adjustment to parenthood
  • Parenting challenges (including children with high support needs)
  • Foster and adoptive parenting

I specialize in working with individuals and couples around concerns related to perinatal depression & anxiety, pregnancy & infant loss, infertility, birth trauma, NICU stays, adjusting to parenthood, and a variety of parenting challenges, including foster and adoptive parenting.

Postpartum Rage

by Grace CarpenterMarch 15, 2024 Carpenter, Grace, News0 comments
I am 3 months postpartum and am shocked by how angry I am all the time. I’m not an angry person, and I don’t know why I feel this way. What is wrong with me?
