My approach to counseling
My work is guided by a person-centered philosophy – collaborative and respectful. I believe each person holds unique wisdom and expertise about their own life — and I see therapy as a process of helping that inner voice become clearer and stronger.
One way this shows up in my work is through an emotion-centered approach. While emotions can sometimes feel overwhelming, I view them as inherently informative — they have something to tell us. Part of the work is about shifting our relationship to our emotions and, by extension, to ourselves.
A tool I often integrate is a mindfulness-based approach, which helps us slow down, notice, and respond more intentionally. I also draw from various therapeutic styles including CBT, ACT, and Narrative Therapy — always through a holistic and strengths-based lens. While I don’t impose any one framework, I bring in what feels most useful in the moment, tailored to each client’s needs.
