My approach to counseling

Everyone deserves to live a joyful and meaningful life. I journey with you as you work through challenges to create meaning and enhance the quality of your life. Together we explore your thoughts, emotions and past experiences in order to develop new ways of being that bring renewed life and meet your goals. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based. I work holistically, incorporating body, mind and spirit into therapy. My perspective is systemic, meaning I consider not only you and your family, but also the societal forces impacting your life situation. My education and graduate training were grounded in a social justice and anti-oppressive practice lens and I am open and affirming. I have knowledge and advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, family systems and mindfulness skill development to assist you in achieving your goals.

I have experience in working with:

  • A wide spectrum of life stages, from teens to seniors
  • Depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, divorce and parenting
  • Clients challenged by chronic disease
  • Refugees and asylum seekers
