A successful marriage relationship is something like a deeply personal, ongoing conversation that two people choose to engage in, expressing their shared values, their differences and their commitment to grow in their love for each other over time.
Join us in this safe, small-group setting for an inter-active and enlivening experience where couples are engaged in conversation about their life together. Participants tell us that meeting with other couples, led by a skilled facilitator, is a very effective way to learn about how to create their own happy marriage.
During the seminar, you'll strengthen your communication and problem-solving skills as you focus on the relationship areas that are the most challenging for couples. These include:
- the families you grew up in
- intimacy and affection
- reconciling differences
- handling money
- balancing work and leisure
- growing as a couple over time
Registration Information
Seminars begin the first Wednesday of the month, meeting from 7 to 9 pm for four weeks, either in Seattle (near Green Lake) or Bellevue. A minimum of three couples is required for a seminar to be held. The cost is $250 per couple. For more information, call 206-527-2273 x337 or contact Mark Houglum at mhouglum@samaritanps.org.

Individual Pre-Marriage Preparation
Samaritan also offers individual marriage preparation in which a couple meets with a therapist for three to six sessions. The fee is negotiated. This often is a good option for couples entering remarriage.
Samaritan can provide couples with a Premarriage Inventory for use either in the seminar or individual sessions.
