This is an open, process-oriented therapy group that meets weekly at our Main Office near Green Lake in Seattle. It is designed to serve clients alongside their on-going individual therapy. "Open" means that people can join the group at any time and "process-oriented" indicates that the focus of the group is the group process of interaction itself rather than any particular theme or disorder. Research has shown that the trust and support that is developed in a professionally led, small-group setting can be very effective in helping participants strengthen interpersonal skills and cope with the transitions they encounter at work or in relationships.
The Adult Therapy Group is made up of six to eight members who make a 10-week commitment, with the option to continue if they choose. Currently, it meets on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 pm. The therapy fee is based on each participant's income and ranges from $20 to $50 per 90-minute session. It is facilitated by Eric Stroo, a member of the Samaritan clinical staff. For more information or to arrange an intake interview, contact Eric at EStroo at Samaritanps.org.
Like all programs at Samaritan, the Adult Therapy Group welcomes people of all faiths, backgrounds and lifestyles.
